Yes, I get it. I’m a fashion blogger. High fashion is right up on there on my list of importance along with water and oxygen. BUT, sometimes (okay, more often than sometimes) all I want to do is throw on a T-shirt and call it a day. T-shirts are about as easy as it gets in fashion: big, baggy, comfy, slouchy, colorful, easy, and did I mention comfy? We all have that urge to just throw on whatever T-shirt is handy, and I do my best to make it look like I put in an inkling of effort. Here are some of the best ways to look decent when getting dressed with a severe case of morning brain.
7. As a dress
No pants are the best pants. Throw on your biggest, longest, slouchy-est T-shirt and some statement heels or flats and there you have it. Spotted on the 2016 resort runways of Moschino, the T-shirt dress is no doubt the comfiest option.
6. With some tough leather
Kendall Jenner is one of the most stylish celebrities in the game— and yes! She’s wearing T-shirts! To toughen up a basic tee, throw on a leather jacket or vest for an edge. Bonus cool points if you complete the look with black or leather leggings with some Jenner ‘tude.
5. Belt it
Add a belt to your T-shirt to give the look some shape and definition and match it with some fun wedges like Mila Kunis. You can drop the belt wherever you want on your body based on your shape. Low-slung around the hips creates a modern silhouette.
4. Off the shoulder
Throw on that big T-shirt and pull it off one shoulder for a cool and casual look. Keep it effortless and stylish with leggings and embrace the slouch. Wear it over a wide strap sports bra like Olivia Munn or find an oversized, slouchy, graphic tee.
3. Tied up
Try a simple knot to add a little detail to a basic tee. Like Kristen Stewart tie it low for a little flash of skin and pair it with low-rise pants for a casual, easy style. This is perfect for those bigger t-shirts that give you just enough extra material to tie up.
2. Statement necklace
Jazz up your basic T-shirt with a big, glamorous bauble. A great way to add some glam to your easy, comfy tee, the statement necklace is a must have. Here, Kim Kardashian has paired her’s with a jacket, sunnies, and a purse because nothing distracts more from your T-shirt aziness than accessories.
1. With a mini skirt
Pair a slouchy T-shirt with an itty-bitty-mini skirt, tucked in, for a playful and put-together style. Alexa Chung went for a casual style with a graphic tee loosely tucked, paired with a colorful skirt. This easy look can be dressed up or down with any kinds of accessories fit your style best!
So there you have it, a T-shirt for everyday of the week. Go crazy. Well, maybe not too crazy because I’m not so dedicated to T-shirt fashion as to recommend wearing one seven days in a row, but you know what I mean. This is a must-do style tip for us college students because, at least speaking from my experience, have a wardrobe full of free T-shirts that must not go to waste. Stay lazy.
